A
colourful combination of Ward insulated wall and roof panels has been
used on a series of commercial units in Bedford. The units, which are
situated at Wilstead Business Park, used Ward 80mm IP1000 panels in Goosewing
Grey on the roof complemented by 70 mm DW1000D secret fix wall cladding
in Midas Atlantis and Electra colours from the new Corus Celestia range.
The colour scheme for new unit was chosen to compliment the colour scheme of
the company to whom the unit is let, and owner and landlord of the Park, Colin
Watson of K. Watson ltd, was instrumental in the specification of Colourcoat
Celestia on all the units at the Park he comments: “The contractor has
a proven track record with Ward Insulated Panels and we have been pleased to
work with Ward on this latest project which has proved to be both visually striking
as well as easy to install.”
Local architects, Woods Hardwick, were particularly impressed with the Celestia
colour range and were keen to work with Ward Insulated Panels on the project.
An additional phase of development will incorporate Delphi and Aurora coloured
cladding, also from the Corus Celestia range,
All Ward DW1000 wall panels are approved to LPC and FM fire standards. Ward
DW wall panels are secret fixed; can be laid horizontally or vertically and
are suitable for all industrial and commercial wall applications.
The building contractor for the project was Balsham (Buildings)Ltd. John Wilkinson
of Balsham Buildings explains: “We have been working with K. Watson for
many years and always use Colourcoat Celestia or Colourcoat HPS200 by Corus
for the buildings on the Industrial Park,” he comments. “A major
advantage of the system, apart from its distinctive and aesthetic appearance,
is the confidex guarantee. This gives peace of mind to the building owner that
the coating is under guarantee without having to involve the Contractual chain
in the unlikely
event that any problems occur. Also, when compared with metallic PVDF solution
coatings, Colourcoat Celestia shows superior resistance to scratches and abrasions.”
