4° and Above
For roof pitches 4° and above the same
verge construction arrangement and
components are used as for lower
pitches, with the exception of the ridge
capping and end fillers. The standard
verge apex does not require notching in
this case.
Quantities
The table left gives the components
and quantities required in the construction
of one linear metre of the verge detail.
In addition to this, on any one gable
end, allowance must be made for the
verge apex unit and either the gutter
corner unit or the verge trim valley
unit at the downslope end, dependent
upon the detail requirements of
the building.
Verge flashings are supplied in standard
lengths of 3.0 metres and are joined by
the use of a butt strap. Fixing screws are
supplied in quantities of 1000.
Note: 8 rivets are required to form the
butt strap joint of the verge flashing every
3.0 metres.
